Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 23

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Word by word
وَإِنَّا wa-innā And indeed, We لَنَحْنُ lanaḥnu surely [We] نُحْىِۦ nuḥ'yī We give life وَنُمِيتُ wanumītu and We cause death وَنَحْنُ wanaḥnu and We ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ l-wārithūna (are) the Inheritors
Transliteration
Wa-inna lanahnu nuhyeewanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain inheritors (after all else passes away).
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وقوله : ( وإنا لنحن نحيي ونميت ) إخبار عن قدرته تعالى على بدء الخلق وإعادته ، وأنه هو الذي أحيا الخلق من العدم ، ثم يميتهم ثم يبعثهم كلهم ليوم الجمع .
وأخبر أنه - تعالى - يرث الأرض ومن عليها وإليه يرجعون .
