Quran 19:50
Surah Maryam, Verse 50

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
Word by word
وَوَهَبْنَا wawahabnā And We bestowed لَهُم lahum to them مِّن min of رَّحْمَتِنَا raḥmatinā Our Mercy وَجَعَلْنَا wajaʿalnā and We made لَهُمْ lahum for them لِسَانَ lisāna a truthful mention صِدْقٍ ṣid'qin a truthful mention عَلِيًّۭا ʿaliyyan high
Transliteration
Wawahabna lahum min rahmatinawajaAAalna lahum lisana sidqin AAaliyya
Translations

And we gave them of Our mercy, and assigned to them a high and true renown.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وقوله : ( ووهبنا لهم من رحمتنا وجعلنا لهم لسان صدق عليا ) : قال علي بن أبي طلحة ، عن ابن عباس : يعني الثناء الحسن . وكذا قال السدي ، ومالك بن أنس .
وقال ابن جرير : إنما قال : ( عليا ) ; لأن جميع الملل والأديان يثنون عليهم ويمدحونهم ، صلوات الله وسلامه عليهم أجمعين .
