Quran 21:25

Surah Al-Anbiyaa, Verse 25

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدُونِ

Word by word

وَمَآ wamā And not أَرْسَلْنَا arsalnā We sent مِن min before you قَبْلِكَ qablika before you مِن min any رَّسُولٍ rasūlin Messenger إِلَّا illā but نُوحِىٓ nūḥī We reveal(ed) إِلَيْهِ ilayhi to him أَنَّهُۥ annahu that [He] لَآ lā (There is) no إِلَـٰهَ ilāha god إِلَّآ illā except أَنَا۠ anā Me فَٱعْبُدُونِ fa-uʿ'budūni so worship Me

Transliteration

Wama arsalna min qablika minrasoolin illa noohee ilayhi annahu la ilahailla ana faAAbudoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And We sent no messenger before thee but We inspired him, (saying): There is no Allah save Me (Allah), so worship Me.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Not a messenger did We send before thee without this inspiration sent by Us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ولهذا قال : ( وما أرسلنا من قبلك من رسول إلا يوحى إليه أنه لا إله إلا أنا فاعبدون ) ، كما قال : ( واسأل من أرسلنا من قبلك من رسلنا أجعلنا من دون الرحمن آلهة يعبدون ) [ الزخرف : 45 ] ، وقال : ( ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة رسولا أن اعبدوا الله واجتنبوا الطاغوت ) [ النحل : 36 ] ، فكل نبي بعثه الله يدعو إلى عبادة الله وحده لا شريك له ، والفطرة شاهدة بذلك أيضا ، والمشركون لا برهان لهم ، وحجتهم داحضة عند ربهم ، وعليهم غضب ، ولهم عذاب شديد .
