Quran 22:8

Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 8

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ

Word by word

وَمِنَ wamina And among ٱلنَّاسِ l-nāsi mankind مَن man (is he) who يُجَـٰدِلُ yujādilu disputes فِى fī concerning ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah بِغَيْرِ bighayri without عِلْمٍۢ ʿil'min any knowledge وَلَا walā and not هُدًۭى hudan any guidance وَلَا walā and not كِتَـٰبٍۢ kitābin a Book مُّنِيرٍۢ munīrin enlightening

Transliteration

Wamina annasi man yujadilufee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan walakitabin muneer

Translations

And among mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah without knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light,

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,-

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

لما ذكر تعالى حال الضلال الجهال المقلدين في قوله : ( ومن الناس من يجادل في الله بغير علم ويتبع كل شيطان مريد ) ، ذكر في هذه حال الدعاة إلى الضلال من رءوس الكفر والبدع ، فقال : ( ومن الناس من يجادل في الله بغير علم ولا هدى ولا كتاب منير ) أي : بلا عقل صحيح ، ولا نقل صحيح صريح ، بل بمجرد الرأي والهوى .
