Quran 24:41

Surah An-Noor, Verse 41

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلطَّيْرُ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍ كُلٌّ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُۥ وَتَسْبِيحَهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Word by word

أَلَمْ alam Do not تَرَ tara you see أَنَّ anna that ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah يُسَبِّحُ yusabbiḥu glorify لَهُۥ lahu Him مَن man whoever فِى fī (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ wal-arḍi and the earth وَٱلطَّيْرُ wal-ṭayru and the birds صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍۢ ۖ ṣāffātin (with) wings outspread كُلٌّۭ kullun Each one قَدْ qad verily عَلِمَ ʿalima knows صَلَاتَهُۥ ṣalātahu its prayer وَتَسْبِيحَهُۥ ۗ watasbīḥahu and its glorification وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah عَلِيمٌۢ ʿalīmun (is) All-Knower بِمَا bimā of what يَفْعَلُونَ yafʿalūna they do

Transliteration

Alam tara anna Allaha yusabbihulahu man fee assamawati wal-ardiwattayru saffatin kullun qadAAalima salatahu watasbeehahu wallahuAAaleemun bima yafAAaloon

Translations

Hast thou not seen that Allah, He it is Whom all who are in the heavens and the earth praise, and the birds in their flight? Of each He knoweth verily the worship and the praise; and Allah is Aware of what they do.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يخبر تعالى أنه يسبحه من في السماوات والأرض ، أي : من الملائكة والأناسي ، والجان والحيوان ، حتى الجماد ، كما قال تعالى : ( تسبح له السماوات السبع والأرض ومن فيهن وإن من شيء إلا يسبح بحمده ولكن لا تفقهون تسبيحهم إنه كان حليما غفورا ) [ الإسراء : 44 ] .

وقوله : ( والطير صافات ) أي : في حال طيرانها تسبح ربها وتعبده بتسبيح ألهمها وأرشدها إليه ، وهو يعلم ما هي فاعلة; ولهذا قال : ( كل قد علم صلاته وتسبيحه ) أي : كل قد أرشده إلى طريقته ومسلكه في عبادة الله ، عز وجل .

ثم أخبر أنه عالم بجميع ذلك ، لا يخفى عليه من ذلك شيء; ولهذا قال : ( والله عليم بما يفعلون ) .
