Quran 25:11

Surah Al-Furqaan, Verse 11

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا

Word by word

بَلْ bal Nay كَذَّبُوا۟ kadhabū they deny بِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖ bil-sāʿati the Hour وَأَعْتَدْنَا wa-aʿtadnā and We have prepared لِمَن liman for (those) who كَذَّبَ kadhaba deny بِٱلسَّاعَةِ bil-sāʿati the Hour سَعِيرًا saʿīran a Blazing Fire

Transliteration

Bal kaththaboo bissaAAatiwaaAAtadna liman kaththaba bissaAAatisaAAeera

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Nay, but they deny (the coming of) the Hour, and for those who deny (the coming of) the Hour We have prepared a flame.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Nay they deny the hour (of the judgment to come): but We have prepared a blazing fire for such as deny the hour:

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( بل كذبوا بالساعة ) أي : إنما يقول هؤلاء هكذا تكذيبا وعنادا ، لا أنهم يطلبون ذلك تبصرا واسترشادا ، بل تكذيبهم بيوم القيامة يحملهم على قول ما يقولونه من هذه الأقوال ، ( وأعتدنا ) أي : وأرصدنا ( لمن كذب بالساعة سعيرا ) أي : عذابا أليما حارا لا يطاق في نار جهنم .

وقال الثوري ، عن سلمة بن كهيل ، عن سعيد بن جبير : " السعير " : واد من قيح جهنم .
