Quran 27:63

Surah An-Naml, Verse 63

أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ وَمَن يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ أَءِلَٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ تَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Word by word

أَمَّن amman Or Who يَهْدِيكُمْ yahdīkum guides you فِى fī in ظُلُمَـٰتِ ẓulumāti (the) darkness[es] ٱلْبَرِّ l-bari (of) the land وَٱلْبَحْرِ wal-baḥri and the sea وَمَن waman and Who يُرْسِلُ yur'silu sends ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ l-riyāḥa the winds بُشْرًۢا bush'ran (as) glad tidings بَيْنَ bayna before يَدَىْ yaday before رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗ raḥmatihi His Mercy أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ a-ilāhun Is there any god مَّعَ maʿa with ٱللَّهِ ۚ l-lahi Allah تَعَـٰلَى taʿālā High is ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah عَمَّا ʿammā above what يُشْرِكُونَ yush'rikūna they associate (with Him)

Transliteration

Amman yahdeekum fee thulumatialbarri walbahri waman yursilu arriyahabushran bayna yaday rahmatihi a-ilahun maAAa AllahitaAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Is not He (best) Who guideth you in the darkness of the land and the sea, He Who sendeth the winds as heralds of His mercy? Is there any Allah beside Allah? High Exalted be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Or, Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy? (Can there be another) god besides Allah?- High is Allah above what they associate with Him!

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول : ( أمن يهديكم في ظلمات البر والبحر ) أي : بما خلق من الدلائل السماوية والأرضية ، كما قال : ( وعلامات وبالنجم هم يهتدون ) [ النحل : 16 ] ، وقال تعالى : ( وهو الذي جعل لكم النجوم لتهتدوا بها في ظلمات البر والبحر ) الآية [ الأنعام : 97 ] .

( ومن يرسل الرياح بشرا بين يدي رحمته ) أي : بين يدي السحاب الذي فيه مطر ، يغيث به عباده المجدبين الأزلين القنطين ، ( أإله مع الله تعالى الله عما يشركون ) .
