Quran 28:21

Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 21

فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Word by word

فَخَرَجَ fakharaja So he left مِنْهَا min'hā from it خَآئِفًۭا khāifan fearing يَتَرَقَّبُ ۖ yataraqqabu (and) vigilant قَالَ qāla He said رَبِّ rabbi My Lord نَجِّنِى najjinī Save me مِنَ mina from ٱلْقَوْمِ l-qawmi the people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ l-ẓālimīna the wrongdoers

Transliteration

Fakharaja minha kha-ifanyataraqqabu qala rabbi najjinee mina alqawmi aththalimeen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

So he escaped from thence, fearing, vigilant. He said: My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing folk.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

He therefore got away therefrom, looking about, in a state of fear. He prayed "O my Lord! save me from people given to wrong-doing."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

لما أخبره ذلك الرجل بما تمالأ عليه فرعون ودولته في أمره ، خرج من مصر وحده ، ولم يألف ذلك قلبه ، بل كان في رفاهية ونعمة ورئاسة ، ( فخرج منها خائفا يترقب ) أي : يتلفت ( قال رب نجني من القوم الظالمين ) أي : من فرعون وملئه . فذكروا أن الله ، سبحانه وتعالى ، بعث له ملكا على فرس ، فأرشده إلى الطريق ، فالله أعلم .
