Quran 3:56

Surah Aal-i-Imraan, Verse 56

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

Word by word

فَأَمَّا fa-ammā Then as for ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve[d] فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ fa-uʿadhibuhum then I will punish them عَذَابًۭا ʿadhāban (with) a punishment شَدِيدًۭا shadīdan severe فِى fī in ٱلدُّنْيَا l-dun'yā the world وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ wal-ākhirati and (in) the Hereafter وَمَا wamā And not لَهُم lahum for them مِّن min any نَّـٰصِرِينَ nāṣirīna helpers

Transliteration

Faamma allatheena kafaroofaoAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan fee addunyawal-akhirati wama lahum min nasireen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

As for those who disbelieve I shall chastise them with a heavy chastisement in the world and the Hereafter; and they will have no helpers.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

"As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( فأما الذين كفروا فأعذبهم عذابا شديدا في الدنيا والآخرة وما لهم من ناصرين ) وكذلك فعل تعالى بمن كفر بالمسيح من اليهود ، أو غلا فيه وأطراه من النصارى ، عذبهم في الدنيا بالقتل والسبي وأخذ الأموال وإزالة الأيدي عن الممالك ، وفي الدار الآخرة عذابهم أشد وأشق ( وما لهم من الله من واق ) [ الرعد : 34 ] .
