Quran 32:15

Surah As-Sajda, Verse 15

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهَا خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا۟ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Word by word

إِنَّمَا innamā Only يُؤْمِنُ yu'minu believe بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا biāyātinā in Our Verses ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who إِذَا idhā when ذُكِّرُوا۟ dhukkirū they are reminded بِهَا bihā of them خَرُّوا۟ kharrū fall down سُجَّدًۭا sujjadan prostrating وَسَبَّحُوا۟ wasabbaḥū and glorify بِحَمْدِ biḥamdi (the) praises رَبِّهِمْ rabbihim (of) their Lord وَهُمْ wahum and they لَا lā are not arrogant يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩ yastakbirūna are not arrogant

Transliteration

Innama yu/minu bi-ayatinaallatheena itha thukkiroo bihakharroo sujjadan wasabbahoo bihamdi rabbihim wahumla yastakbiroon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Only those believe in Our revelations who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and hymn the praise of their Lord, and they are not scornful,

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Only those believe in Our Signs, who, when they are recited to them, fall down in prostration, and celebrate the praises of their Lord, nor are they (ever) puffed up with pride.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول تعالى : ( إنما يؤمن بآياتنا ) أي : إنما يصدق بها ( الذين إذا ذكروا بها خروا سجدا ) أي : استمعوا لها وأطاعوها قولا وفعلا ( وسبحوا بحمد ربهم وهم لا يستكبرون ) [ أي ] عن اتباعها والانقياد لها ، كما يفعله الجهلة من الكفرة الفجرة ، [ وقد ] قال الله تعالى : ( إن الذين يستكبرون عن عبادتي سيدخلون جهنم داخرين ) [ غافر : 60 ] .
