Quran 34:36

Surah Saba, Verse 36

قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّى يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Word by word

قُلْ qul Say إِنَّ inna Indeed رَبِّى rabbī my Lord يَبْسُطُ yabsuṭu extends ٱلرِّزْقَ l-riz'qa the provision لِمَن liman for whom يَشَآءُ yashāu He wills وَيَقْدِرُ wayaqdiru and restricts وَلَـٰكِنَّ walākinna but أَكْثَرَ akthara most ٱلنَّاسِ l-nāsi [the] people لَا lā (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ yaʿlamūna know

Transliteration

Qul inna rabbee yabsutu arrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru walakinna akthara annasila yaAAlamoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Say (O Muhammad): Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will and narroweth it (for whom He will). But most of mankind know not.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Provision to whom He pleases, but most men understand not."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( قل إن ربي يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر ) أي : يعطي المال لمن يحب ومن لا يحب ، فيفقر من يشاء ويغني من يشاء ، وله الحكمة التامة البالغة ، والحجة الدامغة القاطعة ( ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون ) .
