سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Word by word
سُبْحَـٰنَ sub'ḥāna Glory رَبِّكَ rabbika (be to) your Lord رَبِّ rabbi (the) Lord ٱلْعِزَّةِ l-ʿizati (of) Honor عَمَّا ʿammā above what يَصِفُونَ yaṣifūna they attribute
Transliteration
Subhana rabbika rabbi alAAizzatiAAamma yasifoon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)!
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
ينزه تعالى نفسه الكريمة ويقدسها ويبرئها عما يقوله الظالمون المكذبون المعتدون - تعالى وتقدس عن قولهم علوا كبيرا - ولهذا قال : ( سبحان ربك رب العزة ) ، أي : ذي العزة التي لا ترام ، ( عما يصفون ) أي : عن قول هؤلاء المعتدين المفترين .
