Quran 4:87

Surah An-Nisaa, Verse 87

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حَدِيثًا

Word by word

ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah لَآ lā (there is) no إِلَـٰهَ ilāha god إِلَّا illā except هُوَ ۚ huwa Him لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ layajmaʿannakum surely He will gather you إِلَىٰ ilā to يَوْمِ yawmi (the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ l-qiyāmati (of) Resurrection لَا lā no رَيْبَ rayba doubt فِيهِ ۗ fīhi about it وَمَنْ waman And who أَصْدَقُ aṣdaqu (is) more truthful مِنَ mina than ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah حَدِيثًۭا ḥadīthan (in) statement

Transliteration

Allahu la ilaha illahuwa layajmaAAannakum ila yawmi alqiyamati larayba feehi waman asdaqu mina Allahi hadeetha

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Allah! There is no Allah save Him. He gathereth you all unto a Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. Who is more true in statement than Allah?

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Allah! There is no god but He: of a surety He will gather you together against the Day of Judgment, about which there is no doubt. And whose word can be truer than Allah's?

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( الله لا إله إلا هو ) إخبار بتوحيده وتفرده بالإلهية لجميع المخلوقات ، وتضمن قسما ، لقوله : ( ليجمعنكم إلى يوم القيامة لا ريب فيه ) وهذه اللام موطئة للقسم ، فقوله : ( الله لا إله إلا هو ) خبر وقسم أنه سيجمع الأولين والآخرين في صعيد واحد فيجازي كل عامل بعمله .

وقوله تعالى : ( ومن أصدق من الله حديثا ) أي : لا أحد أصدق منه في حديثه وخبره ، ووعده ووعيده ، فلا إله إلا هو ، ولا رب سواه .
