Quran 5:56

Surah Al-Maaida, Verse 56

وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَإِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ

Word by word

وَمَن waman And whoever يَتَوَلَّ yatawalla takes as an ally ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ warasūlahu and His Messenger وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna and those who ءَامَنُوا۟ āmanū believe فَإِنَّ fa-inna then indeed حِزْبَ ḥiz'ba (the) party ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah هُمُ humu they ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ l-ghālibūna (are) the victorious

Transliteration

Waman yatawalla Allaha warasoolahu wallatheenaamanoo fa-inna hizba Allahi humu alghaliboon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And whoso taketh Allah and His messenger and those who believe for guardian (will know that), lo! the party of Allah, they are the victorious.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

As to those who turn (for friendship) to Allah, His Messenger, and the (fellowship of) believers,- it is the fellowship of Allah that must certainly triumph.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

فكل من رضي بولاية الله ورسوله والمؤمنين فهو مفلح في الدنيا والآخرة [ ومنصور في الدنيا والآخرة ] ; ولهذا قال [ الله ] تعالى في هذه الآية الكريمة : ( ومن يتول الله ورسوله والذين آمنوا فإن حزب الله هم الغالبون )
