Quran 59:8

Surah Al-Hashr, Verse 8

لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنًا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ

Word by word

لِلْفُقَرَآءِ lil'fuqarāi For the poor ٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَ l-muhājirīna emigrants ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who أُخْرِجُوا۟ ukh'rijū were expelled مِن min from دِيَـٰرِهِمْ diyārihim their homes وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ wa-amwālihim and their properties يَبْتَغُونَ yabtaghūna seeking فَضْلًۭا faḍlan bounty مِّنَ mina from ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا wariḍ'wānan and pleasure وَيَنصُرُونَ wayanṣurūna and helping ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚ warasūlahu and His Messenger أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ulāika Those هُمُ humu they ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ l-ṣādiqūna (are) the truthful

Transliteration

Lilfuqara-i almuhajireena allatheenaokhrijoo min diyarihim waamwalihim yabtaghoona fadlanmina Allahi waridwanan wayansuroonaAllaha warasoolahu ola-ika humu assadiqoon

Translations

And (it is) for the poor fugitives who have been driven out from their homes and their belongings, who seek bounty from Allah and help Allah and His messenger. They are the loyal.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(Some part is due) to the indigent Muhajirs, those who were expelled from their homes and their property, while seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Messenger: such are indeed the sincere ones:-

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

قول تعالى مبينا حال الفقراء المستحقين لمال الفيء أنهم ( الذين أخرجوا من ديارهم وأموالهم يبتغون فضلا من الله ورضوانا ) أي : خرجوا من ديارهم وخالفوا قومهم ابتغاء مرضاة الله ورضوانه ( وينصرون الله ورسوله أولئك هم الصادقون ) أي : هؤلاء الذين صدقوا قولهم بفعلهم ، وهؤلاء هم سادات المهاجرين .
