Quran 6:24
Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 24

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
Word by word
ٱنظُرْ unẓur Look كَيْفَ kayfa how كَذَبُوا۟ kadhabū they lied عَلَىٰٓ ʿalā against أَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ anfusihim themselves وَضَلَّ waḍalla And lost عَنْهُم ʿanhum from them مَّا mā what كَانُوا۟ kānū they used to يَفْتَرُونَ yaftarūna invent
Transliteration
Onthur kayfa kathabooAAala anfusihim wadalla AAanhum ma kanooyaftaroon
Translations

See how they lie against themselves, and (how) the thing which they devised hath failed them!
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Behold! how they lie against their own souls! But the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وهكذا قال في حق هؤلاء : ( انظر كيف كذبوا على أنفسهم وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون ) كما قال ( ثم قيل لهم أين ما كنتم تشركون من دون الله قالوا ضلوا عنا [ بل لم نكن ندعو من قبل شيئا كذلك يضل الله الكافرين ] ) [ غافر : 73 ، 74 ] .
