Quran 7:128

Surah Al-A'raaf, Verse 128

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Word by word

قَالَ qāla Said مُوسَىٰ mūsā Musa لِقَوْمِهِ liqawmihi to his people ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ is'taʿīnū Seek help بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi from Allah وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۖ wa-iṣ'birū and be patient إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱلْأَرْضَ l-arḍa the earth لِلَّهِ lillahi (belongs) to Allah يُورِثُهَا yūrithuhā He causes to inherit it مَن man whom يَشَآءُ yashāu He wills مِنْ min of عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ ʿibādihi His servants وَٱلْعَـٰقِبَةُ wal-ʿāqibatu And the end لِلْمُتَّقِينَ lil'muttaqīna (is) for the righteous

Transliteration

Qala moosa liqawmihiistaAAeenoo billahi wasbiroo innaal-arda lillahi yoorithuha man yashaomin AAibadihi walAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And Moses said unto his people: Seek help in Allah and endure. Lo! the earth is Allah's. He giveth it for an inheritance to whom He will. And lo! the sequel is for those who keep their duty (unto Him).

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Said Moses to his people: "Pray for help from Allah, and (wait) in patience and constancy: for the earth is Allah's, to give as a heritage to such of His servants as He pleaseth; and the end is (best) for the righteous.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ولما صمم فرعون على ما ذكره من المساءة لبني إسرائيل ، ( قال موسى لقومه استعينوا بالله واصبروا ) ووعدهم بالعاقبة ، وأن الدار ستصير لهم في قوله : ( إن الأرض لله يورثها من يشاء من عباده والعاقبة للمتقين)
