Quran 7:2

Surah Al-A'raaf, Verse 2

كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Word by word

كِتَـٰبٌ kitābun (This is) a Book أُنزِلَ unzila revealed إِلَيْكَ ilayka to you فَلَا falā so (let) not يَكُن yakun be فِى fī in صَدْرِكَ ṣadrika your breast حَرَجٌۭ ḥarajun any uneasiness مِّنْهُ min'hu from it لِتُنذِرَ litundhira that you warn بِهِۦ bihi with it وَذِكْرَىٰ wadhik'rā and a reminder لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ lil'mu'minīna for the believers

Transliteration

Kitabun onzila ilayka falayakun fee sadrika harajun minhu litunthirabihi wathikra lilmu/mineen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

قوله ( كتاب أنزل إليك ) أي : هذا كتاب أنزل إليك ، أي : من ربك ، ( فلا يكن في صدرك حرج منه ) قال مجاهد ، وعطاء وقتادة والسدي : شك منه .

وقيل : لا تتحرج به في إبلاغه والإنذار به واصبر كما صبر أولو العزم من الرسل; ولهذا قال : ( لتنذر به ) أي : أنزل إليك لتنذر به الكافرين ، ( وذكرى للمؤمنين ) .
