Quran 8:62

Surah Al-Anfaal, Verse 62

وَإِن يُرِيدُوٓا۟ أَن يَخْدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ ٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَيَّدَكَ بِنَصْرِهِۦ وَبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Word by word

وَإِن wa-in But if يُرِيدُوٓا۟ yurīdū they intend أَن an to يَخْدَعُوكَ yakhdaʿūka deceive you فَإِنَّ fa-inna then indeed حَسْبَكَ ḥasbaka is sufficient for you ٱللَّهُ ۚ l-lahu Allah هُوَ huwa He ٱلَّذِىٓ alladhī (is) the One Who أَيَّدَكَ ayyadaka supported you بِنَصْرِهِۦ binaṣrihi with His help وَبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ wabil-mu'minīna and with the believers

Transliteration

Wa-in yureedoo an yakhdaAAooka fa-inna hasbakaAllahu huwa allathee ayyadaka binasrihi wabilmu/mineen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And if they would deceive thee, then lo! Allah is Sufficient for thee. He it is Who supporteth thee with His help and with the believers,

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Should they intend to deceive thee,- verily Allah sufficeth thee: He it is That hath strengthened thee with His aid and with (the company of) the Believers;

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ولو كانوا يريدون بالصلح خديعة ليتقووا ويستعدوا ، ( فإن حسبك الله ) أي : كافيك وحده .

ثم ذكر نعمته عليه بما أيده به من المؤمنين المهاجرين والأنصار ؛ فقال : فقال : ( هو الذي أيدك بنصره وبالمؤمنين وألف بين قلوبهم ) أي : جمعها على الإيمان بك ، وعلى طاعتك ومناصرتك وموازرتك
