كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ

Transliteration
Kaththabat thamoodu bitaghwaha
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
(The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride,
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing,
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يخبر تعالى عن ثمود أنهم كذبوا رسولهم ، بسبب ما كانوا عليه من الطغيان والبغي .
وقال محمد بن كعب : ( بطغواها ) أي : بأجمعها .
والأول أولى ، قاله مجاهد وقتادة وغيرهما . فأعقبهم ذلك تكذيبا في قلوبهم بما جاءهم به رسولهم من الهدى واليقين .
