فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلَّا مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قُلْ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

Word by word

فَهَلْ fahal Then do يَنتَظِرُونَ yantaẓirūna they wait إِلَّا illā except مِثْلَ mith'la like أَيَّامِ ayyāmi the days ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (of) those who خَلَوْا۟ khalaw passed away مِن min before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ qablihim before them قُلْ qul Say فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ fa-intaẓirū Then wait إِنِّى innī indeed, I (am) مَعَكُم maʿakum with you مِّنَ mina among ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ l-muntaẓirīna the ones who wait

Transliteration

Fahal yantathiroona illamithla ayyami allatheena khalaw min qablihim qul fantathirooinnee maAAakum mina almuntathireen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

What expect they save the like of the days of those who passed away before them? Say: Expect then! I am with you among the expectant.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Do they then expect (any thing) but (what happened in) the days of the men who passed away before them? Say: "Wait ye then: for I, too, will wait with you."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( فهل ينتظرون إلا مثل أيام الذين خلوا من قبلهم ) أي : فهل ينتظر هؤلاء المكذبون لك يا محمد من النقمة والعذاب إلا مثل أيام الله في الذين خلوا من قبلهم من الأمم المكذبة لرسلهم ، ( قل فانتظروا إني معكم من المنتظرين)
