Quran 10:33

Surah Yunus, Verse 33

كَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ فَسَقُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Word by word

كَذَٰلِكَ kadhālika Thus حَقَّتْ ḥaqqat (is) proved true كَلِمَتُ kalimatu (the) Word رَبِّكَ rabbika (of) your Lord عَلَى ʿalā upon ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who فَسَقُوٓا۟ fasaqū defiantly disobeyed أَنَّهُمْ annahum that they لَا lā (will) not يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna believe

Transliteration

Kathalika haqqat kalimaturabbika AAala allatheena fasaqoo annahum layu/minoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Thus is the Word of thy Lord justified concerning those who do wrong: that they believe not.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Thus is the word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: Verily they will not believe.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( كذلك حقت كلمة ربك على الذين فسقوا أنهم لا يؤمنون ) أي : كما كفر هؤلاء المشركون واستمروا على شركهم وعبادتهم مع الله غيره ، مع أنهم يعترفون بأنه الخالق الرازق المتصرف في الملك وحده ، الذي بعث رسله بتوحيده ؛ فلهذا حقت عليهم كلمة الله أنهم أشقياء من ساكني النار ، كقوله : ( قالوا بلى ولكن حقت كلمة العذاب على الكافرين ) [ الزمر : 71 ] .
