Quran 10:73

Surah Yunus, Verse 73

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

Word by word

فَكَذَّبُوهُ fakadhabūhu But they denied him فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ fanajjaynāhu so We saved him وَمَن waman and (those) who مَّعَهُۥ maʿahu (were) with him فِى fī in ٱلْفُلْكِ l-ful'ki the ship وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ wajaʿalnāhum and We made them خَلَـٰٓئِفَ khalāifa successors وَأَغْرَقْنَا wa-aghraqnā and We drowned ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَذَّبُوا۟ kadhabū denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ biāyātinā Our Signs فَٱنظُرْ fa-unẓur Then see كَيْفَ kayfa how كَانَ kāna was عَـٰقِبَةُ ʿāqibatu (the) end ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ l-mundharīna (of) those who were warned

Transliteration

Fakaththaboohu fanajjaynahuwaman maAAahu fee alfulki wajaAAalnahum khala-ifawaaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinafanthur kayfa kana AAaqibatualmunthareen

Translations

But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made them viceroys (in the earth), while We drowned those who denied Our revelations. See then the nature of the consequence for those who had been warned.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله تعالى : ( فكذبوه فنجيناه ومن معه ) أي : على دينه ( في الفلك ) وهي : السفينة ، ( وجعلناهم خلائف ) أي : في الأرض ، ( وأغرقنا الذين كذبوا بآياتنا فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المنذرين ) أي : يا محمد كيف أنجينا المؤمنين ، وأهلكنا المكذبين .
