Quran 11:106
Surah Hud, Verse 106

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ شَقُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلنَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ
Word by word
فَأَمَّا fa-ammā As for ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who شَقُوا۟ shaqū were wretched فَفِى fafī then (they will be) in ٱلنَّارِ l-nāri the Fire لَهُمْ lahum For them فِيهَا fīhā therein زَفِيرٌۭ zafīrun (is) sighing وَشَهِيقٌ washahīqun and wailing
Transliteration
Faamma allatheena shaqoofafee annari lahum feeha zafeerun washaheeq
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
As for those who will be wretched (on that day) they will be in the Fire; sighing and wailing will be their portion therein,
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Those who are wretched shall be in the Fire: There will be for them therein (nothing but) the heaving of sighs and sobs:
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يقول تعالى : ( لهم فيها زفير وشهيق ) قال ابن عباس : الزفير في الحلق ، والشهيق في الصدر أي : تنفسهم زفير ، وأخذهم النفس شهيق ، لما هم فيه من العذاب ، عياذا بالله من ذلك .
