Quran 11:113

Surah Hud, Verse 113

وَلَا تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ

Word by word

وَلَا walā And (do) not تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ tarkanū incline إِلَى ilā to ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who ظَلَمُوا۟ ẓalamū do wrong فَتَمَسَّكُمُ fatamassakumu lest touches you ٱلنَّارُ l-nāru the Fire وَمَا wamā and not لَكُم lakum (is) for you مِّن min besides Allah دُونِ dūni besides Allah ٱللَّهِ l-lahi besides Allah مِنْ min any أَوْلِيَآءَ awliyāa protectors ثُمَّ thumma then لَا lā not تُنصَرُونَ tunṣarūna you will be helped

Transliteration

Wala tarkanoo ila allatheenathalamoo fatamassakumu annaru wamalakum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa thumma latunsaroon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And incline not toward those who do wrong lest the Fire touch you, and ye have no protecting friends against Allah, and afterward ye would not be helped.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

And incline not to those who do wrong, or the Fire will seize you; and ye have no protectors other than Allah, nor shall ye be helped.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( ولا تركنوا إلى الذين ظلموا ) قال علي بن أبي طلحة ، عن ابن عباس : لا تدهنوا وقال العوفي ، عن ابن عباس : هو الركون إلى الشرك .

وقال أبو العالية : لا ترضوا أعمالهم .

وقال ابن جريج ، عن ابن عباس : ولا تميلوا إلى الذين ظلموا وهذا القول حسن ، أي : لا تستعينوا بالظلمة فتكونوا كأنكم قد رضيتم بباقي صنيعهم ، ( فتمسكم النار وما لكم من دون الله من أولياء ثم لا تنصرون ) أي : ليس لكم من دونه من ولي ينقذكم ، ولا ناصر يخلصكم من عذابه .
