Quran 11:120

Surah Hud, Verse 120

وَكُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ وَجَآءَكَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Word by word

وَكُلًّۭا wakullan And each نَّقُصُّ naquṣṣu We relate عَلَيْكَ ʿalayka to you مِنْ min of أَنۢبَآءِ anbāi (the) news ٱلرُّسُلِ l-rusuli (of) the Messengers مَا mā (for) that نُثَبِّتُ nuthabbitu We may make firm بِهِۦ bihi with it فُؤَادَكَ ۚ fuādaka your heart وَجَآءَكَ wajāaka And has come to you فِى fī in هَـٰذِهِ hādhihi this ٱلْحَقُّ l-ḥaqu the truth وَمَوْعِظَةٌۭ wamawʿiẓatun and an admonition وَذِكْرَىٰ wadhik'rā and a reminder لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ lil'mu'minīna for the believers

Transliteration

Wakullan naqussu AAalayka min anba-iarrusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fu-adaka wajaakafee hathihi alhaqqu wamawAAithatun wathikralilmu/mineen

Translations

And all that We relate unto thee of the story of the messengers is in order that thereby We may make firm thy heart. And herein hath come unto thee the Truth and an exhortation and a reminder for believers.

All that we relate to thee of the stories of the messengers,- with it We make firm thy heart: in them there cometh to thee the Truth, as well as an exhortation and a message of remembrance to those who believe.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول تعالى : وكل أخبار نقصها عليك ، من أنباء الرسل المتقدمين قبلك مع أممهم ، وكيف جرى لهم من المحاجات والخصومات ، وما احتمله الأنبياء من التكذيب والأذى ، وكيف نصر الله حزبه المؤمنين وخذل أعداءه الكافرين - كل هذا مما نثبت به فؤادك - يا محمد - أي : قلبك ، ليكون لك بمن مضى من إخوانك من المرسلين أسوة .

وقوله : ( وجاءك في هذه الحق ) أي : [ في ] هذه السورة . قاله ابن عباس ، ومجاهد ، وجماعة من السلف . وعن الحسن - في رواية عنه - وقتادة : في هذه الدنيا .

والصحيح : في هذه السورة المشتملة على قصص الأنبياء وكيف نجاهم الله والمؤمنين بهم ، وأهلك الكافرين ، جاءك فيها قصص حق ، ونبأ صدق ، وموعظة يرتدع بها الكافرون ، وذكرى يتوقر بها المؤمنون .
