Quran 11:123

Surah Hud, Verse 123

وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ ٱلْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Word by word

وَلِلَّهِ walillahi And for Allah غَيْبُ ghaybu (is the) unseen ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ wal-arḍi and the earth وَإِلَيْهِ wa-ilayhi and to Him يُرْجَعُ yur'jaʿu will be returned ٱلْأَمْرُ l-amru the matter كُلُّهُۥ kulluhu all (of) it فَٱعْبُدْهُ fa-uʿ'bud'hu so worship Him وَتَوَكَّلْ watawakkal and put your trust عَلَيْهِ ۚ ʿalayhi upon Him وَمَا wamā And your Lord is not رَبُّكَ rabbuka And your Lord is not بِغَـٰفِلٍ bighāfilin unaware عَمَّا ʿammā of what تَعْمَلُونَ taʿmalūna you do

Transliteration

Walillahi ghaybu assamawatiwal-ardi wa-ilayhi yurjaAAu al-amru kulluhu faAAbudhuwatawakkal AAalayhi wama rabbuka bighafilin AAammataAAmaloon

Translations

And Allah's is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth, and unto Him the whole matter will be returned. So worship Him and put thy trust in Him. Lo! thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

To Allah do belong the unseen (secrets) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him goeth back every affair (for decision): then worship Him, and put thy trust in Him: and thy Lord is not unmindful of aught that ye do.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يخبر تعالى أنه عالم غيب السموات والأرض ، وأنه إليه المرجع والمآب ، وسيوفى كل عامل عمله يوم الحساب ، فله الخلق والأمر . فأمر تعالى بعبادته والتوكل عليه; فإنه كاف من توكل عليه وأناب إليه .

وقوله : ( وما ربك بغافل عما تعملون ) أي : ليس يخفى عليه ما عليه مكذبوك يا محمد ، بل هو عليم بأحوالهم وأقوالهم وسيجزيهم على ذلك أتم الجزاء في الدنيا والآخرة ، وسينصرك وحزبك عليهم في الدارين . وقال ابن جرير : حدثنا ابن وكيع ، حدثنا زيد بن الحباب ، عن جعفر بن سليمان ، عن أبي عمران الجوني ، عن عبد الله بن رباح ، عن كعب قال : خاتمة " التوراة " خاتمة " هود " [ والله أعلم ] تم تفسير سورة هود .
