Surah Hud, Verse 95

كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ
Word by word
كَأَن ka-an As if لَّمْ lam not يَغْنَوْا۟ yaghnaw they (had) prospered فِيهَآ ۗ fīhā therein أَلَا alā So بُعْدًۭا buʿ'dan away لِّمَدْيَنَ limadyana with Madyan كَمَا kamā as بَعِدَتْ baʿidat was taken away ثَمُودُ thamūdu the Thamud
Transliteration
Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha alabuAAdan limadyana kama baAAidat thamood
Translations

As though they had not dwelt there. A far removal for Midian, even as Thamud had been removed afar!
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
As if they had never dwelt and flourished there! Ah! Behold! How the Madyan were removed (from sight) as were removed the Thamud!
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وقوله : ( كأن لم يغنوا فيها ) أي : يعيشوا في دارهم قبل ذلك ، ( ألا بعدا لمدين كما بعدت ثمود ) وكانوا جيرانهم قريبا منهم في الدار ، وشبيها بهم في الكفر وقطع الطريق ، وكانوا عربا شبههم .
