Quran 18:43
Surah Al-Kahf, Verse 43

وَلَمْ تَكُن لَّهُۥ فِئَةٌ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مُنتَصِرًا
Word by word
وَلَمْ walam And not تَكُن takun was لَّهُۥ lahu for him فِئَةٌۭ fi-atun a group يَنصُرُونَهُۥ yanṣurūnahu (to) help him مِن min other than دُونِ dūni other than ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah وَمَا wamā and not كَانَ kāna was مُنتَصِرًا muntaṣiran (he) supported
Transliteration
Walam takun lahu fi-atun yansuroonahumin dooni Allahi wama kana muntasira
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And he had no troop of men to help him as against Allah, nor could he save himself.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Nor had he numbers to help him against Allah, nor was he able to deliver himself.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
أي : عشيرة أو ولد ، كما افتخر بهم واستعز ( ينصرونه من دون الله وما كان منتصرا هنالك الولاية لله الحق ) اختلف القراء هاهنا ، فمنهم من يقف على قوله : ( وما كان منتصرا)
