Quran 19:68

Surah Maryam, Verse 68

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا

Word by word

فَوَرَبِّكَ fawarabbika So by your Lord لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ lanaḥshurannahum surely, We will gather them وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ wal-shayāṭīna and the devils ثُمَّ thumma then لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ lanuḥ'ḍirannahum surely, We will bring them حَوْلَ ḥawla around جَهَنَّمَ jahannama Hell جِثِيًّۭا jithiyyan bent (on) knees

Transliteration

Fawarabbika lanahshurannahum washshayateenathumma lanuhdirannahum hawla jahannama jithiyya

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And, by thy Lord, verily We shall assemble them and the devils, then We shall bring them, crouching, around hell.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell;

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( فوربك لنحشرنهم والشياطين ) أقسم الرب ، تبارك وتعالى ، بنفسه الكريمة ، أنه لا بد أن يحشرهم جميعا وشياطينهم الذين كانوا يعبدون من دون الله ، ( ثم لنحضرنهم حول جهنم جثيا ) .

قال العوفي ، عن ابن عباس : يعني : قعودا كقوله : ( وترى كل أمة جاثية ) [ الجاثية : 28 ] .

وقال السدي في قوله : ( ثم لنحضرنهم حول جهنم جثيا ) : يعني : قياما ، وروي عن مرة ، عن ابن مسعود مثله .
