Surah Taa-Haa, Verse 110

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلْمًا
Word by word
يَعْلَمُ yaʿlamu He knows مَا mā what بَيْنَ bayna (is) before them أَيْدِيهِمْ aydīhim (is) before them وَمَا wamā and what خَلْفَهُمْ khalfahum (is) behind them وَلَا walā while not يُحِيطُونَ yuḥīṭūna they encompass بِهِۦ bihi it عِلْمًۭا ʿil'man (in) knowledge
Transliteration
YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wamakhalfahum wala yuheetoona bihi AAilma
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
He knoweth (all) that is before them and (all) that is behind them, while they cannot compass it in knowledge.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
He knows what (appears to His creatures as) before or after or behind them: but they shall not compass it with their knowledge.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وقوله : ( يعلم ما بين أيديهم وما خلفهم ) أي : يحيط علما بالخلائق كلهم ، ( ولا يحيطون به علما ) كقوله : ( ولا يحيطون بشيء من علمه إلا بما شاء ) [ البقرة : 255 ] .
