Quran 22:42
Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 42

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ
Word by word
وَإِن wa-in And if يُكَذِّبُوكَ yukadhibūka they deny you فَقَدْ faqad so verily كَذَّبَتْ kadhabat denied قَبْلَهُمْ qablahum before them قَوْمُ qawmu (the) people نُوحٍۢ nūḥin (of) Nuh وَعَادٌۭ waʿādun and Aad وَثَمُودُ wathamūdu and Thamud
Transliteration
Wa-in yukaththibooka faqad kaththabatqablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wathamood
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
If they deny thee (Muhammad), even so the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, before thee, denied (Our messengers);
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
If they treat thy (mission) as false, so did the peoples before them (with their prophets),- the People of Noah, and 'Ad and Thamud;
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يقول تعالى مسليا لنبيه محمد في تكذيب من خالفه من قومه " وإن يكذبوك فقد كذبت قبلهم قوم نوح- إلى أن قال - وكذب موسى " أي مع ما جاء به من الآيات البينات والدلائل الواضحات.
