Quran 25:54

Surah Al-Furqaan, Verse 54

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ بَشَرًا فَجَعَلَهُۥ نَسَبًا وَصِهْرًا وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًا

Word by word

وَهُوَ wahuwa And He ٱلَّذِى alladhī (is) the One Who خَلَقَ khalaqa has created مِنَ mina from ٱلْمَآءِ l-māi the water بَشَرًۭا basharan human being فَجَعَلَهُۥ fajaʿalahu and has made (for) him نَسَبًۭا nasaban blood relationship وَصِهْرًۭا ۗ waṣih'ran and marriage relationship وَكَانَ wakāna And is رَبُّكَ rabbuka your Lord قَدِيرًۭا qadīran All-Powerful

Transliteration

Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina alma-ibasharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakanarabbuka qadeera

Translations

And He it is Who hath created man from water, and hath appointed for him kindred by blood and kindred by marriage; for thy Lord is ever Powerful.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( وهو الذي خلق من الماء بشرا فجعله نسبا وصهرا وكان ربك قديرا ) أي : خلق الإنسان من نطفة ضعيفة ، فسواه وعدله ، وجعله كامل الخلقة ، ذكرا أو أنثى ، كما يشاء ، ( فجعله نسبا وصهرا ) ، فهو في ابتداء أمره ولد نسيب ، ثم يتزوج فيصير صهرا ، ثم يصير له أصهار وأختان وقرابات . وكل ذلك من ماء مهين; ولهذا قال : ( وكان ربك قديرا ) .
