Quran 28:40
Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 40

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Word by word
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ fa-akhadhnāhu So We seized him وَجُنُودَهُۥ wajunūdahu and his hosts فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ fanabadhnāhum and We threw them فِى fī in ٱلْيَمِّ ۖ l-yami the sea فَٱنظُرْ fa-unẓur So see كَيْفَ kayfa how كَانَ kāna was عَـٰقِبَةُ ʿāqibatu (the) end ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ l-ẓālimīna (of) the wrongdoers
Transliteration
Faakhathnahu wajunoodahufanabathnahum fee alyammi fanthurkayfa kana AAaqibatu aththalimeen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Therefor We seized him and his hosts, and abandoned them unto the sea. Behold the nature of the consequence for evil-doers!
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
So We seized him and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: Now behold what was the end of those who did wrong!
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
ولهذا قال هاهنا : ( فأخذناه وجنوده فنبذناهم في اليم ) أي : أغرقناهم في البحر في صبيحة واحدة ، فلم يبق منهم أحد ( فانظر كيف كان عاقبة الظالمين )
