Quran 28:70

Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 70

وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Word by word

وَهُوَ wahuwa And He ٱللَّهُ l-lahu (is) Allah لَآ lā (there is) no إِلَـٰهَ ilāha god إِلَّا illā but هُوَ ۖ huwa He لَهُ lahu To Him ٱلْحَمْدُ l-ḥamdu (are due) all praises فِى fī in ٱلْأُولَىٰ l-ūlā the first وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ wal-ākhirati and the last وَلَهُ walahu And for Him ٱلْحُكْمُ l-ḥuk'mu (is) the Decision وَإِلَيْهِ wa-ilayhi and to Him تُرْجَعُونَ tur'jaʿūna you will be returned

Transliteration

Wahuwa Allahu la ilahailla huwa lahu alhamdu fee al-oola wal-akhiratiwalahu alhukmu wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And He is Allah; there is no Allah save Him. His is all praise in the former and the latter (state), and His is the command, and unto Him ye will be brought back.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( وهو الله لا إله إلا هو ) أي : هو المنفرد بالإلهية ، فلا معبود سواه ، كما لا رب يخلق ويختار سواه ( له الحمد في الأولى والآخرة ) أي : في جميع ما يفعله هو المحمود عليه ، لعدله وحكمته ( وله الحكم ) أي : الذي لا معقب له ، لقهره وغلبته وحكمته ورحمته ، ( وإليه ترجعون ) أي : جميعكم يوم القيامة فيجازي كل عامل بعمله ، من خير وشر ، ولا يخفى عليه منهم خافية في سائر الأعمال .
