Quran 28:87

Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 87

وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ وَٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Word by word

وَلَا walā And (let) not يَصُدُّنَّكَ yaṣuddunnaka avert you عَنْ ʿan from ءَايَـٰتِ āyāti (the) Verses ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah بَعْدَ baʿda after إِذْ idh [when] أُنزِلَتْ unzilat they have been revealed إِلَيْكَ ۖ ilayka to you وَٱدْعُ wa-ud'ʿu And invite (people) إِلَىٰ ilā to رَبِّكَ ۖ rabbika your Lord وَلَا walā And (do) not تَكُونَنَّ takūnanna be مِنَ mina of ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ l-mush'rikīna the polytheists

Transliteration

Wala yasuddunnaka AAan ayatiAllahi baAAda ith onzilat ilayka wadAAu ilarabbika wala takoonanna mina almushrikeen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And let them not divert thee from the revelations of Allah after they have been sent down unto thee; but call (mankind) unto thy Lord, and be not of those who ascribe partners (unto Him).

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have been revealed to thee: and invite (men) to thy Lord, and be not of the company of those who join gods with Allah.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( ولا يصدنك عن آيات الله بعد إذ أنزلت إليك ) أي : لا تتأثر لمخالفتهم لك وصدهم الناس عن طريقك لا تلوي على ذلك ولا تباله ; فإن الله معل كلمتك ، ومؤيد دينك ، ومظهر ما أرسلت به على سائر الأديان ; ولهذا قال : ( وادع إلى ربك ) أي : إلى عبادة ربك وحده لا شريك له ، ( ولا تكونن من المشركين ) .
