Quran 29:20

Surah Al-Ankaboot, Verse 20

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Word by word

قُلْ qul Say سِيرُوا۟ sīrū Travel فِى fī in ٱلْأَرْضِ l-arḍi the earth فَٱنظُرُوا۟ fa-unẓurū and see كَيْفَ kayfa how بَدَأَ bada-a He originated ٱلْخَلْقَ ۚ l-khalqa the creation ثُمَّ thumma Then ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah يُنشِئُ yunshi-u will produce ٱلنَّشْأَةَ l-nashata the creation ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۚ l-ākhirata the last إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah عَلَىٰ ʿalā on كُلِّ kulli every شَىْءٍۢ shayin thing قَدِيرٌۭ qadīrun (is) All-Powerful

Transliteration

Qul seeroo fee al-ardi fanthurookayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshi-o annash-ataal-akhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shay-inqadeer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال تعالى : ( قل سيروا في الأرض فانظروا كيف بدأ الخلق ثم الله ينشئ النشأة الآخرة ) أي : يوم القيامة ، ( إن الله على كل شيء قدير ) . وهذا المقام شبيه بقوله تعالى : ( سنريهم آياتنا في الآفاق وفي أنفسهم حتى يتبين لهم أنه الحق ) [ فصلت : 53 ] ، وكقوله تعالى : ( أم خلقوا من غير شيء أم هم الخالقون أم خلقوا السموات والأرض بل لا يوقنون ) [ الطور : 35 ، 36 ] .
