Quran 29:22

Surah Al-Ankaboot, Verse 22

وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

Word by word

وَمَآ wamā And not أَنتُم antum you بِمُعْجِزِينَ bimuʿ'jizīna can escape فِى fī in ٱلْأَرْضِ l-arḍi the earth وَلَا walā and not فِى fī in ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖ l-samāi the heaven وَمَا wamā And not لَكُم lakum for you مِّن min besides دُونِ dūni besides ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah مِن min any وَلِىٍّۢ waliyyin protector وَلَا walā and not نَصِيرٍۢ naṣīrin a helper

Transliteration

Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee al-ardiwala fee assama-i wama lakum mindooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

"Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( وما أنتم بمعجزين في الأرض ولا في السماء ) أي : لا يعجزه أحد من أهل سماواته وأرضه ، بل هو القاهر فوق عباده ، وكل شيء خائف منه ، فقير إليه ، وهو الغني عما سواه .

( وما لكم من دون الله من ولي ولا نصير )
