Quran 3:114

Surah Aal-i-Imraan, Verse 114

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Word by word

يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna They believe بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah وَٱلْيَوْمِ wal-yawmi and the Day ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ l-ākhiri the Last وَيَأْمُرُونَ wayamurūna and they enjoin بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ bil-maʿrūfi [with] the right وَيَنْهَوْنَ wayanhawna and forbid عَنِ ʿani [from] ٱلْمُنكَرِ l-munkari the wrong وَيُسَـٰرِعُونَ wayusāriʿūna and they hasten فِى fī in ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ l-khayrāti the good deeds وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ wa-ulāika And those مِنَ mina (are) from ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ l-ṣāliḥīna the righteous

Transliteration

Yu/minoona billahi walyawmial-akhiri waya/muroona bilmaAAroofi wayanhawnaAAani almunkari wayusariAAoona fee alkhayrati waola-ikamina assaliheen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( يؤمنون بالله واليوم الآخر ويأمرون بالمعروف وينهون عن المنكر ويسارعون في الخيرات وأولئك من الصالحين ) وهؤلاء هم المذكورون في آخر السورة : ( وإن من أهل الكتاب لمن يؤمن بالله وما أنزل إليكم وما أنزل إليهم خاشعين لله [ لا يشترون بآيات الله ثمنا قليلا أولئك لهم أجرهم عند ربهم إن الله سريع الحساب ] ) [ الآية : 199 ]
