Quran 3:176

Surah Aal-i-Imraan, Verse 176

وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Word by word

وَلَا walā And (let) not يَحْزُنكَ yaḥzunka grieve you ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who يُسَـٰرِعُونَ yusāriʿūna hasten فِى fī in(to) ٱلْكُفْرِ ۚ l-kuf'ri [the] disbelief إِنَّهُمْ innahum Indeed, they لَن lan never يَضُرُّوا۟ yaḍurrū will harm ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah شَيْـًۭٔا ۗ shayan (in) anything يُرِيدُ yurīdu intends ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah أَلَّا allā that not يَجْعَلَ yajʿala He will set لَهُمْ lahum for them حَظًّۭا ḥaẓẓan any portion فِى fī in ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ l-ākhirati the Hereafter وَلَهُمْ walahum And for them عَذَابٌ ʿadhābun (is) a punishment عَظِيمٌ ʿaẓīmun great

Transliteration

Wala yahzunka allatheenayusariAAoona fee alkufri innahum lan yadurroo Allahashay-an yureedu Allahu alla yajAAala lahum haththanfee al-akhirati walahum AAathabun AAatheem

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Let not their conduct grieve thee, who run easily to disbelief, for lo! they injure Allah not at all. It is Allah's Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter, and theirs will be an awful doom.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Let not those grieve thee who rush headlong into Unbelief: Not the least harm will they do to Allah: Allah's plan is that He will give them no portion in the Hereafter, but a severe punishment.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول تعالى لنبيه صلى الله عليه وسلم : ( ولا يحزنك الذين يسارعون في الكفر ) وذلك من شدة حرصه على الناس كان يحزنه مبادرة الكفار إلى المخالفة والعناد والشقاق ، فقال تعالى : ولا يحزنك ذلك ( إنهم لن يضروا الله شيئا يريد الله ألا يجعل لهم حظا في الآخرة ) أي : حكمته فيهم أنه يريد بمشيئته وقدرته ألا يجعل لهم نصيبا في الآخرة ( ولهم عذاب عظيم ) .
