Quran 3:29

Surah Aal-i-Imraan, Verse 29

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Word by word

قُلْ qul Say إِن in Whether تُخْفُوا۟ tukh'fū you conceal مَا mā what فِى fī (is) in صُدُورِكُمْ ṣudūrikum your breasts أَوْ aw or تُبْدُوهُ tub'dūhu you disclose it يَعْلَمْهُ yaʿlamhu knows it ٱللَّهُ ۗ l-lahu Allah وَيَعْلَمُ wayaʿlamu And He knows مَا mā what فِى fī (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَمَا wamā and what فِى fī (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ l-arḍi the earth وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah عَلَىٰ ʿalā (is) on كُلِّ kulli every شَىْءٍۢ shayin thing قَدِيرٌۭ qadīrun All-Powerful

Transliteration

Qul in tukhfoo ma fee sudoorikumaw tubdoohu yaAAlamhu Allahu wayaAAlamu ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi wallahu AAalakulli shay-in qadeer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Say, (O Muhammad): Whether ye hide that which is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knoweth it. He knoweth that which is in the heavens and that which is in the earth, and Allah is Able to do all things.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Say: "Whether ye hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it all: He knows what is in the heavens, and what is on earth. And Allah has power over all things.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يخبر تبارك وتعالى عباده أنه يعلم السرائر والضمائر والظواهر ، وأنه لا يخفى عليه منهم خافية ، بل علمه محيط بهم في سائر الأحوال والآنات واللحظات وجميع الأوقات ، وبجميع ما في السماوات والأرض ، لا يغيب عنه مثقال ذرة ، ولا أصغر من ذلك في جميع أقطار الأرض والبحار والجبال ، وهو ( على كل شيء قدير ) أي : قدرته نافذة في جميع ذلك .

وهذا تنبيه منه لعباده على خوفه وخشيته ، وألا يرتكبوا ما نهى عنه وما يبغضه منهم ، فإنه عالم بجميع أمورهم ، وهو قادر على معاجلتهم بالعقوبة ، وإن أنظر من أنظر منهم ، فإنه يمهل ثم يأخذ أخذ عزيز مقتدر ، ولهذا قال بعد هذا :
