Quran 31:30

Surah Luqman, Verse 30

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلْبَٰطِلُ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

Word by word

ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That بِأَنَّ bi-anna (is) because ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah هُوَ huwa He ٱلْحَقُّ l-ḥaqu (is) the Truth وَأَنَّ wa-anna and that مَا mā what يَدْعُونَ yadʿūna they call مِن min besides Him دُونِهِ dūnihi besides Him ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ l-bāṭilu (is) [the] falsehood وَأَنَّ wa-anna and that ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah هُوَ huwa He ٱلْعَلِىُّ l-ʿaliyu (is) the Most High ٱلْكَبِيرُ l-kabīru the Most Great

Transliteration

Thalika bi-anna Allaha huwa alhaqquwaanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi albatilu waanna Allahahuwa alAAaliyyu alkabeer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

That (is so) because Allah, He is the True, and that which they invoke beside Him is the False, and because Allah, He is the Sublime, the Great.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

That is because Allah is the (only) Reality, and because whatever else they invoke besides Him is Falsehood; and because Allah,- He is the Most High, Most Great.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( ذلك بأن الله هو الحق وأن ما يدعون من دونه الباطل ) أي : إنما يظهر لكم آياته لتستدلوا بها على أنه الحق ، أي : الموجود الحق ، الإله الحق ، وأن كل ما سواه باطل فإنه الغني عما سواه ، وكل شيء فقير إليه; لأن كل ما في السماوات والأرض الجميع خلقه وعبيده ، لا يقدر أحد منهم على تحريك ذرة إلا بإذنه ، ولو اجتمع كل أهل الأرض على أن يخلقوا ذبابا لعجزوا عن ذلك ; ولهذا قال : ( ذلك بأن الله هو الحق وأن ما يدعون من دونه الباطل وأن الله هو العلي الكبير ) أي : العلي : الذي لا أعلى منه ، الكبير : الذي هو أكبر من كل شيء ، فكل شيء خاضع حقير بالنسبة إليه
