Quran 32:3

Surah As-Sajda, Verse 3

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

Word by word

أَمْ am Or يَقُولُونَ yaqūlūna (do) they say ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۚ if'tarāhu He invented it بَلْ bal Nay هُوَ huwa it ٱلْحَقُّ l-ḥaqu (is) the truth مِن min from رَّبِّكَ rabbika your Lord لِتُنذِرَ litundhira that you may warn قَوْمًۭا qawman a people مَّآ mā not أَتَىٰهُم atāhum has come to them مِّن min any نَّذِيرٍۢ nadhīrin warner مِّن min before you قَبْلِكَ qablika before you لَعَلَّهُمْ laʿallahum so that they may يَهْتَدُونَ yahtadūna be guided

Transliteration

Am yaqooloona iftarahu bal huwa alhaqqumin rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum minnatheerin min qablika laAAallahum yahtadoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayst warn a folk to whom no warner came before thee, that haply they may walk aright.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال مخبرا عن المشركين : ( أم يقولون افتراه ) ، بل يقولون : ( افتراه ) أي : اختلقه من تلقاء نفسه ، ( بل هو الحق من ربك لتنذر قوما ما أتاهم من نذير من قبلك لعلهم يهتدون ) أي : يتبعون الحق .
