Quran 34:3

Surah Saba, Verse 3

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَا تَأْتِينَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّى لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَآ أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِى كِتَٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ

Word by word

وَقَالَ waqāla But say ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve لَا lā Not تَأْتِينَا tatīnā will come to us ٱلسَّاعَةُ ۖ l-sāʿatu the Hour قُلْ qul Say بَلَىٰ balā Nay وَرَبِّى warabbī by my Lord لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ latatiyannakum surely it will come to you عَـٰلِمِ ʿālimi (He is the) Knower ٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ l-ghaybi (of) the unseen لَا lā Not يَعْزُبُ yaʿzubu escapes عَنْهُ ʿanhu from Him مِثْقَالُ mith'qālu (the) weight ذَرَّةٍۢ dharratin (of) an atom فِى fī in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَلَا walā and not فِى fī in ٱلْأَرْضِ l-arḍi the earth وَلَآ walā and not أَصْغَرُ aṣgharu smaller مِن min than ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that وَلَآ walā and not أَكْبَرُ akbaru greater إِلَّا illā but فِى fī (is) in كِتَـٰبٍۢ kitābin a Record مُّبِينٍۢ mubīnin Clear

Transliteration

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lata/teena assaAAatu qul bala warabbeelata/tiyannakum AAalimi alghaybi la yaAAzubu AAanhumithqalu tharratin fee assamawatiwala fee al-ardi wala asgharu min thalikawala akbaru illa fee kitabin mubeen

Translations

Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom's weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Record,

The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous:

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

هذه إحدى الآيات الثلاث التي لا رابع لهن ، مما أمر الله رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يقسم بربه العظيم على وقوع المعاد لما أنكره من أنكره من أهل الكفر والعناد ، فإحداهن في سورة يونس : ( ويستنبئونك أحق هو قل إي وربي إنه لحق وما أنتم بمعجزين ) [ يونس : 53 ] ، والثانية هذه : ( وقال الذين كفروا لا تأتينا الساعة قل بلى وربي لتأتينكم ) ، والثالثة في التغابن : ( زعم الذين كفروا أن لن يبعثوا قل بلى وربي لتبعثن ثم لتنبؤن بما عملتم وذلك على الله يسير ) [ التغابن : 7 ] ، فقوله : ( قل بلى وربي لتأتينكم ) ، ثم وصفه بما يؤكد ذلك ويقرره : ( عالم الغيب لا يعزب عنه مثقال ذرة في السماوات ولا في الأرض ولا أصغر من ذلك ولا أكبر إلا في كتاب مبين ) .

قال مجاهد وقتادة : ( لا يعزب عنه ) لا يغيب عنه ، أي : الجميع مندرج تحت علمه فلا يخفى عليه منه شيء ، فالعظام وإن تلاشت وتفرقت وتمزقت ، فهو عالم أين ذهبت وأين تفرقت ، ثم يعيدها كما بدأها أول مرة ، فإنه بكل شيء عليم .
