Quran 36:10
Surah Yaseen, Verse 10

وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Word by word
وَسَوَآءٌ wasawāon And it (is) same عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim to them ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ a-andhartahum whether you warn them أَمْ am or لَمْ lam (do) not تُنذِرْهُمْ tundhir'hum warn them لَا lā not يُؤْمِنُونَ yu'minūna they will believe
Transliteration
Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahumam lam tunthirhum la yu/minoon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not, it is alike for them, for they believe not.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وقوله : ( وسواء عليهم أأنذرتهم أم لم تنذرهم لا يؤمنون ) أي : قد ختم الله عليهم بالضلالة ، فما يفيد فيهم الإنذار ولا يتأثرون به .
وقد تقدم نظيرها في أول سورة البقرة ، وكما قال تعالى : ( إن الذين حقت عليهم كلمة ربك لا يؤمنون ولو جاءتهم كل آية حتى يروا العذاب الأليم ) [ يونس : 96 ، 97 ] .
