Quran 36:11

Surah Yaseen, Verse 11

إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ

Word by word

إِنَّمَا innamā Only تُنذِرُ tundhiru you (can) warn مَنِ mani (him) who ٱتَّبَعَ ittabaʿa follows ٱلذِّكْرَ l-dhik'ra the Reminder وَخَشِىَ wakhashiya and fears ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ l-raḥmāna the Most Gracious بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ bil-ghaybi in the unseen فَبَشِّرْهُ fabashir'hu So give him glad tidings بِمَغْفِرَةٍۢ bimaghfiratin of forgiveness وَأَجْرٍۢ wa-ajrin and a reward كَرِيمٍ karīmin noble

Transliteration

Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAaaththikra wakhashiya arrahmanabilghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareem

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Thou warnest only him who followeth the Reminder and feareth the Beneficent in secret. To him bear tidings of forgiveness and a rich reward.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Thou canst but admonish such a one as follows the Message and fears the (Lord) Most Gracious, unseen: give such a one, therefore, good tidings, of Forgiveness and a Reward most generous.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( إنما تنذر من اتبع الذكر ) أي : إنما ينتفع بإنذارك المؤمنون الذين يتبعون الذكر ، وهو القرآن العظيم ، ( وخشي الرحمن ) أي : حيث لا يراه أحد إلا الله ، يعلم أن الله مطلع عليه ، وعالم بما يفعله ، ( فبشره بمغفرة ) أي : لذنوبه ، ( وأجر كريم ) أي : كبير واسع حسن جميل ، كما قال : ( إن الذين يخشون ربهم بالغيب لهم مغفرة وأجر كبير ) [ الملك : 12 ] .
