Quran 36:36

Surah Yaseen, Verse 36

سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Word by word

سُبْحَـٰنَ sub'ḥāna Glory be ٱلَّذِى alladhī (to) the One Who خَلَقَ khalaqa created ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ l-azwāja (in) pairs كُلَّهَا kullahā all مِمَّا mimmā of what تُنۢبِتُ tunbitu grows ٱلْأَرْضُ l-arḍu the earth وَمِنْ wamin and of أَنفُسِهِمْ anfusihim themselves وَمِمَّا wamimmā and of what لَا lā not يَعْلَمُونَ yaʿlamūna they know

Transliteration

Subhana allathee khalaqaal-azwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu al-arduwamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not!

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال : ( سبحان الذي خلق الأزواج كلها مما تنبت الأرض ) أي : من زروع وثمار ونبات . ( ومن أنفسهم ) فجعلهم ذكرا وأنثى ، ( ومما لا يعلمون ) أي : من مخلوقات شتى لا يعرفونها ، كما قال تعالى : ( ومن كل شيء خلقنا زوجين لعلكم تذكرون ) [ الذاريات : 49 ] .
