Surah Yaseen, Verse 44

إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

إِلَّا illā Except رَحْمَةًۭ raḥmatan (by) Mercy مِّنَّا minnā from Us وَمَتَـٰعًا wamatāʿan and provision إِلَىٰ ilā for حِينٍۢ ḥīnin a time
Transliteration
Illa rahmatan minnawamataAAan ila heen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
( إلا رحمة منا ) وهذا استثناء منقطع ، تقديره : ولكن برحمتنا نسيركم في البر والبحر ، ونسلمكم إلى أجل مسمى ; ولهذا قال : ( ومتاعا إلى حين ) أي : إلى وقت معلوم عند الله .
