Quran 36:48
Surah Yaseen, Verse 48

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Word by word
وَيَقُولُونَ wayaqūlūna And they say مَتَىٰ matā When (is) هَـٰذَا hādhā this ٱلْوَعْدُ l-waʿdu promise إِن in if كُنتُمْ kuntum you are صَـٰدِقِينَ ṣādiqīna truthful
Transliteration
Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful?
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?"
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يخبر تعالى عن استبعاد الكفرة لقيام الساعة في قولهم : ( متى هذا الوعد [ إن كنتم صادقين ] ) ؟ ( يستعجل بها الذين لا يؤمنون بها ) [ الشورى : 18 ] ،
