Quran 40:30
Surah Al-Ghaafir, Verse 30

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ
Word by word
وَقَالَ waqāla And said ٱلَّذِىٓ alladhī (he) who ءَامَنَ āmana believed يَـٰقَوْمِ yāqawmi O my people إِنِّىٓ innī Indeed I أَخَافُ akhāfu [I] fear عَلَيْكُم ʿalaykum for you مِّثْلَ mith'la like يَوْمِ yawmi (the) day ٱلْأَحْزَابِ l-aḥzābi (of) the companies
Transliteration
Waqala allathee amana yaqawmi innee akhafu AAalaykum mithla yawmi al-ahzab
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And he who believed said: O my people! Lo! I fear for you a fate like that of the factions (of old);
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Then said the man who believed: "O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)!-
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
هذا إخبار من الله - عز وجل - عن هذا الرجل الصالح ، مؤمن آل فرعون : أنه حذر قومه بأس الله في الدنيا والآخرة فقال : ( يا قوم إني أخاف عليكم مثل يوم الأحزاب ) أي : الذين كذبوا رسل الله في قديم الدهر ،
